I am a Newly Qualified Solicitor, specialising in the practise areas of Criminal and Family Law. I graduated from Teesside University in July 2019, having studied the Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB. Hons) full-time. I maintained a consistent 2:1 profile throughout my undergraduate degree with averages of 65% in my first year and 68% both in my penultimate and final years. Following on from my undergraduate studies, I went on to complete my Master of Laws degree in Professional Legal Practice (LLM LPC) at The University of Law (Leeds Campus). As part of my Master of Laws qualification, I elected to study Advanced Criminal Law and Practice, Advanced Family Law and Practice, together with Personal Injury and Medical Negligence, as well as Immigration Law. I secured my Training Contract in August 2020 and completed seats within the Firm’s Criminal and Family Departments, undertaking both public and private work. Whilst fulfilling my Training Contract, I successfully completed my Police Station Accreditation within the first year of my training and advised own clients as well as duty clients on behalf of the Firm. During the latter stages of my Training Contract, I completed the necessary Professional Skills Course (PSC) which is a requirement of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), prior to being admitted to the roll of Solicitors. Again, I studied the PSC at The University of Law (London Moorgate Campus). Following my 2-year training period, most of which was during the Covid-19 Pandemic, I was admitted to the roll of Solicitors on 12th August 2022. I am currently a Practising Solicitor and looking at growing my skills in advocacy to undertake the Higher Rights of Advocacy Course in the near future. The next goal in my professional career is to undertake the Magistrates Court Qualification to successfully satisfy the Law Society of my suitability to become a member of the CLAS. This will therefore allow me to become a member of the Duty Solicitor Scheme.
